# Versioning metadata collision groups

A versioning metadata collision group consists of a set of metadata descriptors which establish that, when two objects share the same value in the specified descriptor, they are really one and the same object. What characterizes this collision group is the preservation of the new object as a version of the object previously preserved.

The main screen lists the versioning metadata collision groups, showing name, description, access to detail, editing and elimination.
