# Preserving simple software

Preservation of simple applications  may be achieved as describe in [Software as part of the RIN](/labdrive/data-curation-and-preservation-1/preservation-activities/adding-representation-information/other-representation-information/software-as-part-of-the-rin.md) and its own RIN will include, for example the source code, software libraries, operating system and build system, all with appropriate version identification.
