INTRODUCTION

One of the fundamental contributions of Digital Preservation is the discovery and search capabilities of the preserved contents. OpenAccess’ is a quality platform that offers many options for discovery of the digital materials preserved. It allows a complete environment for managing the content, the users’ permissions (by roles or restrictions), and explore the full variety of modern formats and techniques. OpenAccess also includes full control at the same time that it focuses on usability (at various levels) with a simple scalable environment.

OpenAccess presents the following modules:

  • Full OAI-PMH support: content can be shared and distributed easily using the most adopted standard to do so: Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting

  • Powerful access control: allowing certain content to be visible only from the reading rooms, from certain IP addresses, etc.
