Add a new record

This view allows to add a new record to the system, having different options to complete, such as the following:

Record Metadata

  • Title: Title of the new record.

    • Up to 255 characters allowed

    • No empty value

  • Description: Description of the new record.

    • Up to 5000 characters allowed

Record type: To add the type of files that the record will store and what type of viewer is to be used.

  • EMBED: This type of record is for those needing to be embedded in the viewer. (A URL is needed for the correct use of this viewer).

  • IMAGE: This type of record is for those needing to be displayed with an image viewer or in this case the Universal Viewer (See 2.1.1 Universal Viewer). (Only JPG, PTIF, PNG, TIF, JPEG supported).

  • AUDIO: This type of record is for audio files and will use the viewer configured for it. (Only MP3, AAC, AVI, WAV supported). (See Audio)

  • VIDEO: This type of record is for Video files and will use the viewer configured for it. (For the correct use of this viewer it is necessary to have a video stored). (Only MP4, MKV supported). (See Video)

  • 3D: This type of record is for those needing a 3D viewer, OpenAccess works with Sketchfab, a very complete viewer. (See 3D)

  • PDF: Used for PDF files where a specialized PDF viewer is needed. (Only PDF files supported)

  • WEB_ARCHIVE: For types of records that are visualizations of a website, OpenAccess implements Waybackmachine to display WARC files. (Only WARC files supported) (See WARC)

  • VIDEO + TRANSCRIPT: The files stored in this record must contain a video file and an XML file for proper operation. OpenAccess implements OHMS for its video viewer with transcripts. (See Video + Transcript)

Published:

It is not allowed to modify the published state of the record because various elements must first be generated for the proper functioning of the new record.

Note: It can only be changed when the record is modified. (See Modifying a record)

Visible in OAI-PMH:

If the value is "Yes", the record will be shown in the OAI-PMH, otherwise it will not be shown.

To the right of the screen:

Metadata Schema: Selection of a metadata schema for the record (mandatory to add descriptors).

View order: Displays the order with respect to other records. Lower numbers means that the record will be higher in the position.

Children and parents of the record: Multiple selection of parents and children from the record.

Collections of the record: Collection(s) to which the record belongs. The record may belong to one or more collections.

In the upper right of the screen:

  • Create: Create the record without leaving the page.

  • Create & close: Create the record and leave the page.
