# Target selection and object filtering (Triggers)

Target is the set of content that the pipeline will initially process. Objects in the target that match the filtering will ultimately be processed.

Select the target or source the LIBSAFE will scan:

* Based on triggers: The user triggers the execution of this pipeline, selecting the elements that will be used as targets (using the interface or the API).

A trigger allows you to make this pipeline available for certain containers and/or certain files/folders with a regular expression. Pipelines can be hidden so they are only available by the API:![](https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/docsz/AD_4nXfhsY7VvOIPd8UudvPI3j9ch2fznLmhlA9Oqdhfq-xlZNSpA26eSs0TamNAmfE_vGwFhFooI5VuYKrnW1yxYCm4FglSx6byZK5nrcSI0cllvWb5OVD1q9cObzoAQTPmRZcdSDGKxhfPFuQVUGdV5nfBnSz5lryvVrhFVI3yygpmxGqdrSwIdDg?key=ihWpnacGhFPvEXYYLGtkwA)
